This is the last week to bring snacks to eat at recess. Beginning in October we will use the whole recess time to play.
If you would like to participate in the Reflections contest, entry forms and rules were sent home last week. Entries are due Oct 19.

Week of September 19-23, 2011
If you have not signed up for the PTA, please stop by the office for an envelope. It is only $5 and all the money stays right here at Bella Vista. The class with the most participation receives a basket of school supplies!
To alleviate some of the congestion by the door after school, we will now meet parents by the big tree at the end of the lower parking lot.

I am in need of a volunteer to teach Meet the Masters. This is a school wide art program. The lesson plans are already made and you will be trained by the PTA. The kindergarteners do four projects one in October, November, January and February. Our time for Meet the Masters is the 3rd Thursday of the month from 1:00-2:15. Please let me know if you would like to participate in this fun program.

Week of September 12-16
Please remember to return the homework paper signed and your child's library books on Monday.
Plan to come to Math Box Night Wednesday September 14 at 7pm in the classroom. We will be handing out math boxes and learning how to use them. These math boxes will be used all year for homework. Please contact me if you are not able to come so I can send home the information you need.
The PTA walk-a-thon is on Friday. Please refer to the information sheets sent home last week.
We will be doing gym time every Friday. Please don't have your child wear flip-flops on Fridays. It's much easier to do games in the gym when shoes aren't falling off!

We will start homework this week. Remember to do each activity at least 3 times this week and sign and return the homework paper on Monday for a small prize.
There are some hand cut-outs posted on the classroom door with school supplies written on them. If you would like to donate anything to our classroom please take one of the hands and return the item to school with your child.

Welcome to Kindergarten!
Hello Parents! Welcome to the new school year! Please get in the habit of checking this blog on a weekly basis. I will update it on Mondays with the volunteer schedule, Show and Tell theme, and what we will be learning about this week. Please check the volunteer calendar for openings.
