Week of January 2-6, 2012

Today your child's Kindergarten CBM testing appointment was mailed to you.  The testing will be done January 11, 12, and 13.  Please make arrangements for your child to be at his/her assigned time.  Return the bottom half of the note to school as soon as possible so I know if you are able to keep your time. 

Remember to return reading folders and library books on Monday.

One More Thing...

Also, there will be no school for kindergarteners on January 11, 12, and 13 for Winter CBM testing.  This is the same testing we did at the kindergarten pre-assessment.  After the break you will be assigned a time to bring your child in for the testing.  The testing appointments will be 20 minutes long.  A parent does not necessarily need to be there, so if you work during the day just arrange for someone else to bring your child to his/her appointment.  Thanks!

Week of December 12-16

I will not send home reading books over the winter break.  Sometimes they get packed up with holiday stuff and get lost!  We will be sending home some fun homework activities to work on over the break and also remember to be reading every day and marking your reading folders.  For the week of December 12-19 you should be marking week 12.

Week of December 5-9, 2011

This week we are having a Polar Express Pajama Party on Friday.  There was a note sent home about it today.  So the students are invited to wear their pajamas to school with a robe and winter coat.  They can also bring a blanket or pillow to sit on.

Week of November 21, 22, 2011

On Friday I sent home food assignments for our Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday November 22nd.  If you are able to donate, please send the food with your child on Tuesday.  We will start our feast at 12:45.  Remember, it is an early day, so school starts at 11:40.

The school food drive continues through November 22.  Please donate nonperishable food if you are able.

Week of November 14-18, 2011

Bella Vista is collecting nonperishable food for the food bank November 14-22.  Please send in your food donations during this time.

On Tuesday November 22 we will be having a Thanksgiving feast.  Remember, it is a short day that day!  I need a few volunteers to help set up and serve food at our feast.  I will also send home food assignments this week if you are able to bring something to share.  We will be having our feast at 12:45 until 1:30.  Please let me know if you are able to help.

Thanks for meeting with me last week for parent teacher conferences.  Everyone has progressed so much already this year!
